We wanted to take a second and share a message about My Local Friend:

To everyone who has completed the questionnaire in the past few weeks to become a volunteer or user with Welcome Friend or Taal Friend: we have received your request, and we will be in touch in the next couple of weeks (late February/early March).

Our response time hasn’t been as fast as usual, so we just wanted to say we’re sorry for not getting back to you sooner – and we will contact you very soon about setting up an intake.

Right before Christmas break (and lock down), the My Local Friend website was merged onto the main City Central site. That means that anyone interested in becoming a volunteer for Taal Friend (NL) or Welcome Friend (EN), and internationals who want to be matched with a local, can now sign up there.

We’re also in the process of training some fantastic new team members from @connectinternationalnorth, and they will be helping out with our intakes and matchmaking in the near future.
