City Central shop closed as of 1 December
As of 1 December, the City Central shop is closed for business – but that does not mean City Central is going away!
We’ve loved getting to see so many members of our community stop by the shop for a chat or one of our activities over the years. It’s been our home since City Central started back in 2017. It’s a special place, and we are sorry to see it go.

Most of our services and projects will continue in a new location, although we are still in the process of figuring out where that will be. Wherever we end up, we will do our best to make sure it’s still an informal meeting place, as well as a comfortable space to host our small-scale in-person events.
It’s where we’ve hosted nearly 50 events, from our Lekker Kletsen sessions to our loyal Book Club gatherings and lots of wonderful creative experiments in between. It's where we've served exactly 3,409 cups of coffee. It's where we've met hundreds of Local Friends during intakes with the Stadjers, internationals, multilocals and bicultural people of Groningen. It’s where 22 amazing and kind shop employees have helped answer your questions about all things Groningen. It’s where we’ve been proud to showcase the artistic vision and sustainable practices of 32 Dutch makers, artists and entrepreneurs.

We’ve loved getting to see so many members of our community stop by the shop for a chat, een bakkie troost, or one of our activities over the years. We’ll keep you posted once we know more about where our new home will be.
For now, if you are looking for a walk-in location for information, be sure to head over to the International Welcome Center North at Gedempte Zuiderdiep 98.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions - and if you'd like to share your favourite memories of the shop, you can be a part of the conversation on our Instagram or Facebook pages.
Thank you all for your continued support, and we hope to see you again soon!
